About all that I can say about this book is that it's about the most convicting (but NOT at all condemning), life-changing book that I have ever read. In a nutshell, it talks about how often, Christians believe in Jesus and know that He died on the cross to save us from sin, but we still live as we did before we were saved. Basically, Christian atheists are people who believe in Christ, but don't live out that faith. Chapters 1 through 12 in the book deal with when you believe in God, but: you don't really know Him, are ashamed of your past, aren't sure He loves you, you don't believe in prayer, you don't think He's fair, you refuse to forgive, you don't think you can change, you still worry all the time, you pursue happiness at any cost, you trust more in money, you don't share your faith, you don't believe in His church.
Craig Groeschel, the author of the book, is a pastor and former Christian atheist. Many of the examples of living as if God doesn't exist are actually from his own life. The book is written in a very down-to-earth way and contains a lot of practical information on exactly what it means to not live as a Christian atheist and instead live a life fully devoted and submitted to Christ. Some chapters may apply more than others to individual people. I know that was the case for me. Even so, I was able to take something from every single chapter. This book had me in tears at various times, sometimes because I was crying and other times because I was laughing so hard.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is a Christian, but falls even partially into ANY of the categories mentioned in chapters 1 through 12 of this book.
